One of the IVR features is playing custom recordings to your customers during IVR steps. All recordings have to be added to your LiveAgent account. Recordings can be either uploaded or even recorded directly. Recordings can be added from the "Ivr" section of a specific number by clicking on the "Add record" button.
If you do not have your own IVR recordings, we provide our sample recordings free to use at the end of this article.
In the following section, you can see a list of all recordings that are already available in your LiveAgent account. All recordings can be played, inserted into your current IVR tree, or deleted. Additionally, you can upload or record new recordings.
Uploading a new recording
IVR recordings can be uploaded from your PC by clicking on the "Upload" button in the "Add record" screen. It is possible to upload only files with extensions .mp3, .wav, or .ogg. The name of the file will be populated automatically based on the name of the uploaded file.
After clicking on the "Insert" button, the recording will be automatically added to your IVR tree in the - play: command on the exact place where your typing indicator was set when you've clicked on the "Add record" button in the "Ivr" section.

Recording a new recording
Apart from uploading a recording from your PC, you can also record a new recording via your microphone. The recording feature requires the Microphone permission allowed in your browser for LiveAgent pages. A new recording can be recorded by clicking on the "Record" button in the "Add record" screen.
In the recording section, click again on the "Record" button to start recording, and stop it by clicking on the "■" button. After the recording is created, you can ► play it or "Record again". If you are satisfied with the recording, click on the "Insert" button to add the recording to your IVR tree. Recordings files are generated with the .webm extension, and are added to your IVR tree in the - play: command on the exact place where your typing indicator was set when you've clicked on the "Add record" button in the "Ivr" section.
Currently used recordings
All recordings that are currently used in your IVR tree are displayed on the right side of the screen from where they can be played or inserted multiple times to the tree.
