For long time users search can sometimes be frustrating. For with some users we have more than 1000 tickets. We need to be able to filter and find something.

This is why we need advanced search.

Advanced search is something for everyday use. For example I want to find mail that include specific person with specific word that I know for example that was send in some specific period of time. http://prntscr.com/pvx448

This is not for filters like we use but everyday search.

In the meantime, I can suggest using the "Custom filter" button that is used to temporarily edit any filter to find what you desire.

You can search for a word in a particular field of the ticket by typing 'field:word' e.g. 'subject:invitation' or 'note:payment' or 'code:ABC-DEFGH-123'. As a field name, you can use note, subject, content, code, attribute_note (ticket note), req_firstname, req_lastname, req_email (requester's first name, last name, and email).

You can now also use wildcard characters '*' (for any number of characters) and '?' (for zero or one character) and you can put the wildcard at the beginning or at the end of the word.

You can also combine search expressions with logical conjunctions 'AND' and 'OR', but keep in mind the conjunctions are case sensitive. e.g. 'pay* AND decline?'
